Valentine’s Day
@ The Dakota

Experience an unforgettable Valentine’s Day at the Dakota Jazz Club where the soulful and versatile vocalist Sophia Shorai reunites with legendary pianist Tommy Barbarella for an evening of swinging jazz and pop standards. This 2026 performance is a rare opportunity to see two artists with more than a decade of musical chemistry in one of the Twin Cities' most intimate and immersive settings.

This year, the duo is joined by a powerhouse ensemble of world-class musicians whose influence extends far beyond Minnesota:

• Tommy Barbarella (Piano/Keys): A former member of Prince’s New Power Generation who has recently toured with Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus.

• James W. Anton (Bass): A renowned bassist known for his exceptional groove and extensive session work.

• David Anania (Drums): A world-traveled percussionist with deep roots in both jazz and progressive scenes.

• Brandon Wozniak (Saxophone): One of the region’s premier saxophonists, recognized for his creative improvisation.

• Daniel Eikmeier (Trumpet): A standout brass talent known for his technical precision and lyrical style. (And, Sophia’s best good friend.)
